Wonderful lazy winter naps...

(Left) Our adorable Nellie bunny (black/white) and her brother Baffie, below, both arrived this week for another Holiday.  Nellie has been burning the Timothy Hay off, by doing laps arounded the carpeted trees, and her open cage.  She could easily pass for one of those stunt drivers that swerves in and out of obstacles and tight corners, at top speed... Many people comment that bunnies don't like tile floors because it's too slippery for them to get a foot hold when they hop about... They certainly aren't talking about any of my bunny guests... cause there ain't no slowin' them down here, when they get going....
(Right) My handsome, chatty ChiefieWiefie (dark tabby) is joining us for another extended vacation... He likes to talk but I'd have to say that he does more snoring than talking, when he's with me... Well, no.  I don't think he's bored.. he just gets so curled up and toastily tucked away inside of the Kitty Condo, that he's often lost in dream land.  Even as I type this now, he's sawing logs, on the other side of the plexi glass... He must be dreaming about a pretty meadow that's overrun with mousies.... 'Oh!  I can help you with that!' he says
(Left) Alley (dark tabby) and Viva (calico/white) soaked up some rays, earlier this week, before Viva and her brother went home, after weeks as my guests... Alley &  Naomi, her sister, have been making so many new friends since they arrived in November... Together, we'll keep everyone's names straight... just kidding... Alley doesn't need my help with that!
(Right) Oh Hi again Baffie (white/dark tabby)!  My little wide eyed wonder here is very alert and observant of his surroundings... He just arrived with Nellie bunny, above, this week.  Mostly, he's  been hangin' out in the airplane and up on the loft, over the stairs... I know he loves his big cushy pillows, on the other side of the room too... I expect to find him curled up on one, in the coming week, along side Nikki or Syam... He's a charmer..
(Left) Suzie Q (tortoise shell) is her usual goofy, playful self.  I often catch her, although I haven't been lucky enough to have the camera upstairs with me, at the time, trying to catch fish, straight out of the fishtank.. I know she gets the concept of a glass aquarium... but she seems to think she should be able to reach in, right past the illusion, and sort herself a nice fresh fish dinner.... I think we're gonna have to start watching Criss Angel videos for that Suz!

As January comes to a close.... only 11 more months to go...

(Left)  Our adorable Bandit (black/white) arrived again today.  This little 18 year old cutie still motors around the place at a good clip... There doesn't appear to be any stopping her.... I think she's going for the big
2 - 0 , personally.... Always great to see you Bannie!
(Right) Well, here's another gorgeous face for you.. Pheobe (white/dark tabby) and her brother Simon, below arrived again yesterday.  Both kitties are enjoying watching Nellie the bunny, who also arrived this week... This girl always pretends to be such a tuffie.... but, she's truly not!  I always have fun with my little PheobeWeebieDo...
(Left) Another familiar face... Sam (grey/white tabby) also arrived this week... Our shy handsome boy here, is doing just great... I did come in this morning to find one of the bunk bed foams lying with a peculiar bump in it's midriff... on other occasions, I'd find Sam burrowing under one of those pillows... but alas, when I looked this morning, no Sammy!  He's been hanging out in the red phone booths most of the day....
(Right) Oh Simon (fawn/white tabby), you just too cute!  Sounds like our handsome Simon has been venturing out doors these days... to pee in the snow like his sister Pheobe, and the family pup, Benji... Simon loves nothing more than to be 'One of the Guys'.... So this should please him to no end...
(Left) A couple more gorgeous girly girls... Portia (grey) and Gingko Maria (black) have met up, yet again.  Both kitties have been vacationing at the B&B for many years... I'm sure these girls will have lots of catching up to do with their moms.... I know that I'm looking forward to hearing all about their people's adventures... Both girls will be staying on longer still...

As the sunshine calls the 4 leggeds south...

(Left) This is our gorgeous girl Penny (dark tabby).  She is a B&B newbie, but you would never guess that!  She's part puppy this one... she loves people and likes being where the action is.  She's always willing to help me on the computer and with my paperwork, much like Suzie Q.  She sends out a big hello to her folks in the sunny south.
(Right) Our little charmer Syam (siamese) is back after a few weeks away, between trips.  Mr. Chatty here, is another social kitty.  He finds himself surrounded by girls today... after Sammy went home yesterday..  He'll be happy to know that Chiefie and Baffie are arriving tomorrow... Whew!  What's a guy to do with all these girls...!  He'll be with us for a while this visit.  Welcome back Syam.
(Left) There's another shy, friendly big girl... Nikki (dark tabby/white) just arrived yesterday too.  She's still getting herself sorted and has returned to some of her favorite snoozin spots already... We look forward to a nice long visit with this little Miss... She also sends out a big Hello to her folks in the sunny south... come to think of it, all of todays kitties will be doing that!  Tis the season!! Don't forget the sunscreen guys!
(Right) Sasha (grey/white)!!  Nice to see you again big girl... This gorgeous feline arrived yesterday as well, for this, her 2nd visit.  She didn't have any adjustment her first visit, and the same can be said for this one...She loves sitting in the front windows and watching the snow fall.... She can also be found 'cat watching' through the french doors...Hello again Sasha!  You don't look a day older than last time we saw you!

Morning play time...

(Left) My handsome boy SammySamson (grey/white tabby) and his sister Viva, are with us a while longer.  This cutie loves to be up high in the bridges or, slightly lower, checking in with BigBird1... BigBird 1&2 have been with me for about 8 years now... Wow!  Where does it go!  Sammy has quite the built in purr machine... He and his sis are doing great and send out a big Hiya to their folks, far far away.... See you soon!
So, what did Tiny (black/white) and her new friend Alley (dark tabby) get up to these past weeks together? you ask... Well, they played, then played some more, then played hide & seek, then, just plain played again.... If you click on this picture (right), you can actually see Alley getting ready to tackle Tiny, who is in the process of chasing down one of their favorite toys....
Not sure who started it... doesn't really matter... If one of these girls gets playing on the floor, it doesn't take long, before the 2nd one joins in... Tiny and her brother Schisser returned home this week... Alley and her sister Naomi, will be with us a good long while yet... That's ok, Alley has more playful friends arriving later this week....

Yes, yes... It is that cherished time of the year again,at the B&B...

(Left) What are the kids up to, when their people are away??....
Viva (calico) seems to be doing much the same, each day of her holiday... feet and tummy in the air.... with a big roaring purr goin'.... same thing, different day.... same cuteness right across the board... As I type this, Viva has landed on the play structure, directly behind me... she can see me through the glass.. and is meowing at me...Oh my goodness!  Get the camera.. She's upright!! I should give you a picture to see what she looks like on all fours.... Funny Girl!
(Right)  Speaking of funny girls.... Suzie Q (tortoise shell) arrived again yesterday... She will have a nice long extended holiday with her new friends... lots of longer term kitties coming for a visit.. I know of one playful pen chaser (& pipe cleaner chaser) who is going to be a huge help to me, while I play in my business taxes, over the next couple of weeks.... (Uh..huhh...We won't mention any names...!)
(Left) Another gorgeous girl... that makes 3 for the day!  Gingko Maria (black) can be so incredibly goofy and playful... until you point a camera in her direction... And don't fool yourself... she knows exactly when you're going to click the darn thing... and usually ends up squinting for me... I know, she hates the flash... I don't blame her... Speaking of purr machines... she will run across the bunk beds to get her quota of neck scratches... Which reminds me.. I must give her a little manicure this week... as gentle as she is... those daggers are some long!!
(Right) Our handsome boy Jak (dark tabby/white) can be on the 'camera shy' side too... You may notice the 'one eye'... that about says it all... Oh.  You're sleeping!  Ok. I'll come back later.... This little charmer is due another visit in the coming weeks.... winkwink!!

Well, it's morning... best to get my exercises going.....

Our gorgeous girl Naomi (dark tabby) got off to an early start today.  While her sister Alley played with Tiny on the floor, chasing toys all over and under the place, Naomi started her morning with stretches..... Back stretches....
Side stretches.... Leg stretches....

Followed by a cardio workout... She would grab onto the carpeted post and while digging into the carpet with her back claws, would propel herself around and around the post, clockwise, leading with her head...
Ya, like this... She knew how funny she was being too... She'd stop every while and hold an adorable pose for me, before she continued on...

When she finally finished her routine, she stopped and looked at me to see her 'marks'.... 10 on 10 my little Naomers.... The funniest part, was that, as she rubbed her fur into the carpet, as she went around and around, she built up so much static in her coat, that she was sending off little electrical charges the whole time... It didn't seem to bother her... She didn't like so much, the zap that I gave her, on the nose, just after I took this pic and was giving her a well deserved neck scratching... Funny girl Naomi!

The calm between storms....

(Above) Tiny (black/white) was quite a shy little girl when she first arrived.  You could get about this close to her, before she'd fly through the air and find a better safe spot.  All that has changed of course.  She still loves the bridges, but is now very happy to get her daily cuddles..
(Left) Little Sophia (dark tabby).. or SophieWophie as I often call her, spent the Holidays with us again this year.  She loves her airplane.. She enjoyed having a break from her younger rambunctious brother this year....

(Left) More Holiday catch-up shots.. Mallykins (dark tabby) was seen soaking up the rays, on a fine winter's morn.... This has become one of Mally's regular snoozin' spots... I can't imagine that it would be terribly comfortable, cause she's actually half lying on the vinyl window frame... but she, and many kitties before her, consider this a cherished site.
(Right) My girl Jane (dark tabby) spent a portion of her Holiday, with eyes peering out of the red phone booth and fixated on BigBird1.... He sure has a lot of friends, that feathery little guy... I don't know how he keeps all of their names so straight... I think that my 2 Lovebirds are missing having so much furry company stopping by all the time... That's ok boys... another week or so, and everyone gets into 'heading south' mode... Company's coming...!

Ottawa's Finest....

(Left) There's our shy little girl Viva (calico)... When strangers aren't around, boy can this little girl turn into a hamm!  Check out the gorgeous eyes on this cutie... She's a big schmooze and I never know where I'll find her next.  It's always a safe bet to look in the high up spots first.  Viva and her brother Sammy are expected to return home this week.  They both had much fun this, their first winter vacation, at the B&B.
(Right) Well, lets take a peek.  Those would be our handsome boys Schisser (dark tabby) and his buddy Gilles (fawn tabby)... Also up there relaxing on the Bridges, is our adorable Olivia (grey/white tabby).  Schisser and his sister Tiny are staying on with us for a few more days.  Olivia and Gilles just left yesterday.  This was surely taken in the quiet of the afternoon.... The kitties love my new bridges cause they have such high sides, it's impossible for them to roll off, when they are doing their belly flashes....
(Left) There's my charming Leo the Lion (grey).  I took this pic yesterday  morning before his dad came to pick him up.  He was being adorable for the camera... and for BigBird2.  Leo and Sweetie had soooo much fun together over these past weeks.  I'm sure that they're already planning their next holiday together....
(Right) There's my handsome Mushushu (dark tabby)... This little cutie left earlier today.  He loved having the whole entrance and hallway to  himself most of this past week.  This boy sure loves to be brushed... as his mom remarked this morning.. he doesn't lose much fur when you brush him.... the black chairs...well, that's another thing altogether... It's always great to see you again Mushu!

Nothing like a little snow to make it feel like January!

(Left) There's our adorable Jade (white).  As you can tell, it wasn't taken today... with all of that luscious morning sunshine streaming in... Our Jadie girl went home earlier this week.  The cats sure had fun in those hay bails... We look forward to seeing her again later this year.
(Right) As I mentioned in yesterday's post... Sweetie (Siberian) here, mirrored my exact sentiments, as we closed the front door at 6pm, on Tuesday the 4th.  I went upstairs to close up, and he climbed into the airplane, walked along the top of it, as he sometimes does, and laid himself across the top of it, absolutely pooped.... Not a toe was touching the body of the plane, he had completely suspended himself atop the roof.... I hear ya, big guy!  Whew.  That was a day!

(Right) Rhubarb (black) was found everywhere during her stay.  I was telling her mom that each time that I'd walk up to her or give her my full line of attention, and especially if I called her name, at the same time... she'd raise her behind up high and then flatten her back out again... It was especially funny, when she was up on her highest pillow 'cause she'd do that, and make the ceiling tiles move, each time.. That's our girl Juliette (tortoise shell), in the airplane.... She was 'on tour' most of the 2nd half of her stay..  These 2 gorgeous girls already went home earlier this week.
(Left) I was telling Cordillia's (calico/white) mom that I've never seen her little girl as incredibly chatty, as she was this visit.  Each morning, and any other time during the day, if I approached, or opened the red phone booths door, out she'd pop like this.... chatting away, wanting her neck scratches... and don't think that you can get away with only a few of them either... she's gotten very vocal.  This little girl knows what she wants... and by darn, she's gonna get them!  You too cute Cordikins...

Yah! I'm finally caught up on the blog!

(Left) How can you tell it's meal time at the B&B?!  Well, first of all, Menou (calico) ventures out of her favorite lower kitchen cabinet, and makes sure that I'm aware of her presence, as I dish up her wet food.... Sweetie (Siberian) can't resist the smell either... Eclipse loves his wet food too... but, is just as happy to have a running tap to drink cold water from, no matter what time of the day.....
(Right)  Oh Princess (black/white), I can tell that you've been teaching your little brother how to 'pour it on'.... for the camera.... This little Miss gets more social and tolerant of the other cats, each time that I see her.... Could be she's mellowing in her mid age... or, that little brother Buddy, is wearing her down... 'Come on!  Let's play so more!'
(Left) Hi Cleo (dark tabby)... I know you'd love to go outside... Just because there isn't any snow out there, doesn't mean that it's warm...  This pint size little cutie is loving having her mom home more nowadays... Lucky girl!  Cleo spent the past week with us once again... She's possibly returning home later this week.  Always good to see you again Cleo!
(Right)  This very black tortoise shell kitty is named Alley.  She is the sister of Storm.  Alley spent much of her first visit in the smaller back room.  This time, she's been bunking in the lower kitchen cabinets, many times with Ares.  She's a cutie and is a bit unsure around strange people.  She's another kitty that would exit the cabinets and look at me, when she knew that the wet food was being dished up at meal time.
(Left) This is our handsome boy Tucker (Persian)...I took this picture, shortly after close of business, this past Tuesday, after the last customer had left.  It was a hoppin' day... and the remaining kitties were pooped!  Tuckie found the nearest wall, and propped himself up against it.  I think we were all glad to see 6 o'clock that day!  Hmm, sitting on the heat vent.. that could explain why he gets such staticky fur... I have very cute pics of Sweetie, from just after close, that very same evening... I'll post them tomorrow... Too cute!

Is it snowing yet!?

(Left) If I told you that our adorable girl Storm (white/dark tabby) is a big schmooze... Would you be inclined to believe me?!  Yes, we saw a fair share of this little girl's tummy, in the air, over the past New Year's long weekend.  Storm and her sister Alley were back for their 2nd visit.  Both girls had a lovely time and found lots of fun things to do, while they enjoyed their visit.... We look forward to seeing them again, later this winter.
(Right) There's my gorgeous girl Carabelle (torbi) again.  I would find her up here on my carpeted wall ramps, at some times, during the day.  Other wise, she was back, curled up in or on top of one of her favorite hay bails.. If they were 'fully booked'... she'd often curl up on the tractor pillow seat.  She and her sister Leanna spent Christmas with us this year.  It's always fun to see these 2 charmers....
(Left) Chopin (dark tabby) and her sister Chablis spent part of the Holidays with us again this year.  These tiny twins have become way more social and interactive, with people, than they were in the past.  It was a great surprise for me.  They both have turned into little purring machines, when you offer them neck scratches...
(Right) Gilles (fawn tabby, left) is visiting for the first time.  He and Zapata (orange tabby, right) are both typical friendly and social orange boys.  Zappie has been with us a few times already.  It didn't take Gilles anytime at all to figure out the lay of the land.... He moves about the group regularly and is often found snoozin' on top of the hay bails or pirate boat.  He's a natural at this mom!  Gilles of course looks forward to seeing his mom again.... but, in the mean time, he's happy to just be one of the guys!
(Left) Just in case anyone was thinking that our handsome boy Peanut (grey/white) spent all of his time in the lower cabins of the Pirate Boat... here's proof to the contrary!  This little munchkin loves to be silly and goofy for the camera... That's our adorable girl Olivia (grey/white) in the background, on top of a town house roof again.... Most lately, she's been lounging about the top bunk beds, in the larger group area, adjoining... She's a big time groomer and loves to keep her toes 'just so'!  Peanut Pie went home this week.  Our girl Olivia is with us a while longer.
