Thursday June 30th and all is well with Ottawa's Cats....

(Left) ChouieChouChou (orange/white) returned home this week.  Even when we change the location of the Rainbow, Choufleur still finds it to be the most agreeable of sleeping spots... He didn't have quite as much to say this visit... but he was still his cuddly self....

(Right)  This must be another of my Monday pics... more belly rolls... Our handsome boy Javert (white/dark tabby) and his brother Spencer have been very goofy for the camera this week.  My little talker here is so easy to find when you enter a busy room... just say his name, ever so musically, and he will respond....

(Left) Mommy, mommy...!  Maman (grey/white tabby) and her lil' ones are visiting again.  So much activity... first, at home with visitors and now, back at the B&B, hangin out with their old pals... We found Maman and Catou to be a bit tired their first day in.... they have since rubber banded right back into their playful, energetic selves..

(Right) No, I don't have the camera or the picture turned on it's end... You might've thought that this cat was lying on his side but actually, our little handsome Romeo (dark tabby).... (ok, maybe not so little anymore), is upright, with his behind up in the air and he's getting ready for a roll... Did someone say 'Camera'?!

(Left) It was almost impossible to really see what our little Romeo charmer looks like.... so here you have it.... A whole tree house full of cuteness.... These 2 poses are very typical of how our boy greets us each morning... You too cute Romeo!!

Tomorrow is the day.... Kitties 'en mass' !

(Left) It seems that every cat that I pointed the camera at on Monday gave me an adorable belly roll, just like our girl Xena (black/white) here.  So many black and whites still in this week...  XenaWena is visiting again with her brother Ares.  Yes, she is THIS cute!

(Right/Below) More black & white cuteness... Our little Miss Bean arrived last week... She'll be staying a bit longer this time compared to previous visits.  It doesn't take her long... she's right back on her favorite pillows.. She's quite the schmooze once you get to know her... She's playful and calm..

(Left) Our handsome boy Misty (black/white) found a new favorite snoozin' spot.. Right down there, in the belly of the tractor... that will do just fine!  Can you say BellyRoll?!?  Such a social, friendly guy.. He has a special diet, so he goes to the french doors and paws at the glass when he wants in or out of the group...  He's a funny one!

(Right) Oh finally, a different color.... Many readers will recognize Sam (grey/white tabby) from just a couple of weeks ago... This is our visiting ferret-kitty.... He seeks out and conquers his favorite bed, within the first 10 minutes... well, actually ... he conquers the underside of the bed!

(Left) My, my... what have you there little Miss Bannie (yes, more black & whites!)... I had to run up to grab the camera for this shot cause I was so surprised to find Bandit camped out right beside the burrowing Sammy (above).. He's always been fine with other cats... I don't think that he minded.. I'm not entirely sure that Bandit knew that Sam was under there... She is 19 years old but she's still got everything in fine working order!

The flowers are very happy now...

(Left) Another of our handsome charmers... this little guy is Romeo (dark tabby).  He can be shy when he first arrives and always moves into the townhouses, when he visits.  We usually see him at least once a year... He`s enjoying watching all of his old and new friends...

(Right, Below) This gorgeous little newbie is named Zoe (grey&white tabby).. She looks like a fit 6 month old kitten but she`s actually 6 years old... She visited this past weekend.  It was difficult to get a half decent picture of her because when she`s near people, she`s usually wrapped around their legs & feet... Sounds like she`s a real outdoorsy kinda girl... It was fun getting to know her.

(Left) There`s my gorgeous girl Trudykins (black).... she arrived this week to escape the rather large puppy that was visiting... Ya, I don`t think she`d much care for a big pooch breathing down the back of her furry neck as she does her morning stretches on the floor, with her mom.... She`s chattier this visit than most... Trudy is a real card!

(Right,Below) I`m sure that our little cutie Dimitri (orange tabby) is lying outside under a hedge this afternoon... He just returned home after a number of weeks... His life is about to get a whole lot busier with loads of family and little 2-leggeds arriving & settling into Ottawa, next month... Oh boy... I`m not sure how Dimitri would be with small children.. He`s usually up high, on his loft, when children come to pick-up... We shall wait and hear....

Rain, rain, go away.... come again on Monday....

(Left) Such a pleasurable cast of characters that we have at the Pet B&B this weekend... This handsome charmer is Nout (Abysinnian)... He didn`t much care for the long car ride that preceded his visit to us but he`s certainly having fun now that he`s arrived.  I will have a better front face pic of him later on, for now, this was the best that I could get... He does love to move around!  He`s busy, friendly and social... and he`s only just getting started... He`s gonna have a whole lot to tell his mom about when his vacation is over...

 (Right) Another of our long time guests.... Our handsome boy Javert (white&dark tabby) is a total head butt-er... He`ll do one of these on any and everything that`s near him, including your nose... He`s back `in the saddle` , that`s Javert talk for `back on his favorite highest pillow`.... He and his brother Spencer saw the return of many of their old friends this week.... tons more on the way Javert!  It`s gonna be `catch up` weekend....

(Left) Our gorgeous girl Joya (dark tabby) also arrived this week.... Even when she looks like she`s sleeping she`s aware of your presence and then, wait for it, ..... aha, there it is.... The loudest rumbling purr.... easy to hear, even over the sound of the radio that is located directly below her favorite bunk bed, pictured here... This little Miss can also be a talker...

(Right) That`s an easy `lead in` for our handsome little Chiefie Wiefie (dark tabby)... He loves to keep his voice box in optimal condition, while at home with his dad... My little Chiefie is one of those `cuddle suck cats` that love to wrap their front arms around your neck when you pick them up.... Oh ya... I wanted to give him a bit of a brushing this afternoon... `you`re coming apart at the seams, Chiefikins...`

Drum Roll Please... as the school year draws to an end....

(Left) As fast as I said that our handsome Raja (orange/white tabby) was a bit more shy than his sister Millie, he adopts his usual 'Airplane Trapeze Artist' persona.... This boy always ends up hammin' it in the airplane... Both kids are doing great and getting lots of exercise!  They are an active, social duo...

 (Right) These adorable faces will be familiar to most of my readers... Parker (white & orange) and his long time friend Suzie Q (tortoise shell) both arrived this week.... They have holidayed together multiple times... It's amusing to see how cats de-sensitize & adapt to the noise and excitement that is a constant at the B&B... If a cat is afraid of the slightest little noise at home, they will soon get over that... These 2 kitties have visited many, many times... my challenge now, when trying to get a nice face shot of them, is to make a 'different' enough noise to get their attention... It's either that, or they've just 'gotten onto me'.... and know what I'm up to...

 (Left) An adorable newbie... This little girl is Shakira (dark tabby).. she and her sister Shadow arrived this week from Kingston... They will now become 2 of Ottawa`s Finest, just like the rest of my brood.... These girls are gentle and sweet.   Shakira here is adventurous and loves to be in the middle of the action and meeting everyone... people and other kitties.... Both girls adjusted quickly to their new environment..I`m sure that moving into a new home will be just as easy for them...

(Right) Don`t mind the mess on the counter!... Stormie (white & dark tabby) certainly doesn`t... Our gorgeous girl Storm loves water, the sink, and drinking out of the faucet... You`d be surprised at how many kitties do this at home too... I couldn`t resist her cuteness with her back legs all stretched out this way... You too funny Stormikins!!!

I need to organize all of these kitties to do a group Rain Dance for my gardens....

(Below) Well, when our adorable girl Alley (tortoise shell) is not sunning herself on the window benches or being the Queen of her Castle.. she rides around in the spaceship.... She loves to look out from the top of her high perch and watch all of the little people and little kitties, way down there, go about their business... which means of course 'playing'...

(Right) All that our gorgeous girl Luzzie (dark tabby) is missing is a line and hook... luckily, we don't stock any of those at the B&B... Little Luz was so excited to see the new baby of the household yesterday... it was interesting that baby Violette made loud, excited shreiky noises when she say Luz... even young children can differentiate their kitty from a room full of others, without the cat so much as meowing.... Very interesting....!

(Left) Our handsome boy Percy (dark tabby/white) leaned into a big stretch, as far as he could go, to get a clear view... I'm not so sure about what caught his attention in the back room... as I had been cutting wood in there and the door had been closed to keep all of my furry 'helpers' out of the mess... Good thing though, cause I can just picture this little charmer with a hammer and hard hat on, giving me structural advice on how to build my new playstructures....

(Right) Our cutie Menou (calico) has never been a big fan of the camera.... She's been with us since last week and will be staying on for a while during some home renos...   I wonder if she has a favorite kitchen cabinet to sleep in at home, like she does while she's vacationing with us... Just as during her last visit, I find her much calmer than in the past.

As the summer kicks off to a busy start....

(Left) He will climb the highest bridge, scale the tallest building, hike the steepest mountain... if it means getting an awesome view like he has here... Our handsome boy Grousha (orange/white tabby) is visiting again.  It's been a while since we saw him and he is happy to be back visiting with all of his buddies... He's a huge hamm for the camera... It was impossible to identify him by the picture on the left so I included the next one too.... He loves to play and take little pokes at your hair as you walk by underneath.. He's a gentle boy and never means to harm anyone when he plays like this, but he did manage to give me a tiny nick on the side of my nose this morning.... He was too fast for me... It's all good!

(Right) This pic isn't exactly clear of Grousha either, but it certainly gives you an idea of his personality... play, play, play... He sends out a big Hiya to his folks..... See you both before you know it!

(Left) It's turning into another Black & White week at the B&B... This handsome big lad is named Misty... He's a calm, gentle and friendly soul.... He's adorable and even cuter when he's sleeping... He likes to fold one of his paws over his plush little cheeks when he's passed out snoozin'... You too cute Misty!!

(Right) More Black & White Goodnes.... Our adorable girl Millie arrived Monday with her brother Raja... This little bundle of energy loves people.. I caught her this morning doing her 'tear up' of the scratch post...                      You GO Girl!  She's an active cutie and extrovert... Her brother Raja is still a bit shy today, in comparison to his sister but he won't refuse his neck scratches...

Ottawa Cats being Ottawa Cats!

(Left) Well Peppy (black/white)... that's one way to say Hiya!!  That's a big 2 armed Hiya right back at you... Our little charmer girl loves to show off her cuteness in a variety of ways.... She had lots of fun friends to hang out with this week...

 (Right) More Calico cuteness... Barney is still with us for a while longer... We all send her mom wishes for a speedy recoverey.... Barney is doing great.  She moves around between her favorite haybails, the phone booth and her bunk beds.... She's such a cutie!

(Left) Looking calm, cool and collected... that`s our handsome boy Eclipse (black)... This little Mr. returned home today...  He had a few days to enjoy his old friends Jasper, Percy and newbies Dutchess & Benny... It`s always great to see you again Clippers....

(Right)  Hello PercyPerseus (dark tabby)!.  This little cutie has a couple of new siblings at home.  We look forward to meeting the whole gang in a couple of weeks...  I`ve always thought that `3` was the perfect number, if you have young, athletic and playful cats... If one gets too tired, the other 2 just keep going, like Energizer Kittens....

Hmm, what should we do today?! How about Adopt a new kitten!

(Right) Just an update for everyone about the 3 gorgeous kittens that were searching for their new Forever Homes... Both boys Eric (grey tabby) and Bobbie (larger of 2 dark tabbies) have both found new families... Our pint sized little female Bonnie (dark tabby) though is still in wait and search of her new home... She's about 16 weeks old now but is smaller than that and will likely stay a small-ish, friendly and playful girl.... To learn more about Bonnie please refer back to my blog post for Monday June 6th... for contact details/information..... You never know... she may be exactly the right little girl for you!

(Left) Our handsome boy Greyson (grey/white tabby) has discovered the airplane and has been spotted lounging up in it for the past days.... He's often accompanied by Naomi (dark tabby).... Naomi had been sleeping on the lower level of the plane before I started snapping pics of the two... She's not one to miss a photo opp though... She always gets up and does a pirouette or 2 for the camera... Doesn't look like she expected to find Greyson on the top deck... I guess one of them had to fly the darn thing!  They are a couple of cuties... 

(Right) My little PeppyWeppy (black/white) arrived again yesterday... We see her regularly, mostly for short stays... This adorable girl is still a tad shy when she first arrives but she's been here often enough now, she'll start doing side rolls and back flips before long... You need only call her name and she'll appear without much delay... She is more than 'Peppy'... she's full of beans!  You too fun Peppy!

(Left) I'll be sending these 3 as part of my B&B summer relay race team.... I'm sure that they'll place top 5 in the city!  That's a whole lotta kitty power!  Our orange charmer is Benny... his sister Dutchess (calico) is beside him... That's our adorable girl Hannah (grey/white) again... It'll be strange and much quieter around here this weekend with Benny & Dutchess leaving after vacationing with us for the past weeks... We look forward to seeing them next time....

(Right) That's right.... It's our beautiful little Alley (dark tabby)... She is a persistant, optimistic little Miss... She's eager for the day that BigBird1 figures out how to open his own house window or door.... and you bet, she'll be the first one there to show him around the group area... That's very kind of you AlleyWallie!!!  I'm sure BigBird will appreciate your hospitality...

Sunny, sunny days.....

(Left) Our gorgeous girl Hannah (grey/white) is a playful, social little bundle of energy.  She's come out of her shell.... waaaaay out of her shell and is having a great time with her new friends... Such a gentle girl... She sends out a big Hello to her folks over seas.... Are the kitties over there as cute as I am?!?

(Right) One of our handsome schmoozes... Casey (black/white) has returned for another restful, relaxing and fun vacation... He's quite sure that he'll be very well rested and played out by the time he returns home next week.... He's sure that his folks will be 'played out' after their vacation.... but thinks that they'll be in need of a very big doedoe by the time they get home...!  Good luck with the little ones!! he says

(Left) Restful and relaxed.... You don't often find these 2 passed out like this... they are young and rambunctuous... and great climbers... Our little charmer, on the left, is Sharpe (grey/white)... that's his handsome twin brother Wolfgang (grey/white) on the right....As per their usual, they love to camp out near to their dear feathered friend, BigBird1.... We'll see the boys back before too long... I'll let BigBird know!

(Right) Oh high Stormie (white/dark tabby)!  Our gorgeous girl Storm is often stretched out in the airplane... and/or, in the kitchen sink... She, like so many of our furry charges, loves drinking water from the tap... Eclipse is another of our tap drinkers.... Storm is the sister of Alley, from yesterday (the tortoise shell Alley).

(Left) Luzzie (dark tabby) can be such a little tiger on the first day that she arrives.... from then on, she's mostly a little hamm.... This is one photogenic kitty.. Luz loves the camera.. She's enjoying getting back into shape.. stretching all of those 'lesser used' muscles that she doesn't get to use at home... She's quite the agile athelete... You Go Girl!

Ottawa Cats do it Better...

(Left) How about these 2 cuties for a couple of first timers..... The tiny little 'kitten' in the front, is Rosie (white/dark tabby).... She's actually way older than she looks.... Oh, to be young forever!! Her adorable sister Sadie (black/white) is a tad shyer than Rosie.  They both did great for their first visit and are going to have fun exploring their new home.... when their mom comes to pick them up.... Come back anytime, Girls!

(Right) Jazziee!!! This laid back 'look' has got 'Jasper' (black) written all over it!  This handsome little charmer returns home this week... He had fun with his little buddies and fellow black kitties Miloshka and now, Eclipse, who just arrived.  Benny, Dutchess & Hannah are keeping him in shape..... Why is it that those 3 black kitties always take their vacations at the same time?!

(Left) Alley (tortoise shell) and her sister Storm will be having an extended summer holiday with us this time.... These 2 gorgeous girls have settled into their 'home away from home' so fast.  They send out a big Hiya to their mom..... and wish her a lot of fun on her big adventure.  They'll be sending lots of kitty postcards, just to stay in touch...

(Right) That's Miloshka (black) doing his morning warm ups, before he gets his day going.... gotta stretch those muscles first to ensure that you don't strain anything before you go full steam ahead, into play mode.... Good thinking my handsome little Milosh!  You always thinking!

A hiding we will go.....

(Left) More schmoozie grey and white tabbies.... Greyson is a newbie to the B&B..... He acted just like 'this', his very first day here.  He is great with the other cats and has much patience for the young fire crackers that try to get him to engage in some play time.... 'Stop, Drop & Roll' is his motto.... You  have to be careful to look at the floor when you're walking.... he can do 'this' without a moments notice...You too cute GreyGrey!

(Right) Yes, isn't it a lovely pic of Andrea's 'city scape'..... Actually, if you click on the pick, you'll be able to see the tip of a little grey ear peaking out from the top of the bridges.... Hmmm... Where is that little Wolfman?!?

(Left) Oh boy!  We could've been a long time trying to find this handsome little lad when it comes time to pack up and go home.... I had walked underneath the bridges twice, looking for Wolfgang (grey/white).... He's gotten darn good at being invisible.... Unfortunately, I made both sides of each bridge the same depth.... Note to self... when constructing the next set of walk overs, make one side shallow!... 'How high?'....Oh, I don't know.... how about only half the height of a stretched out, clever kitty....

(Right) There's my boy Charlie Chaplin (black/white) on top of his favorite phone booth... This handsome little guy can be just as sneaky and invisible as Wolfgang ... Sometimes I have to climb the ladder to make sure that he's even up there... From this vantage point, he can see who comes and goes at the front door, what's going on outside and he can check out what his buddies are doing on the floor, down below.... He sends out a big 'Salut' to his dad... See you next week!
