The campers will be delighted with the weekend weather.....

(Left)  Our adorable Keishakins (dark tabby/white) left earlier this week.... As sweet and gentle as she is, I couldn't talk her into looking at the camera for me.... the same can be said for our girl Mally, who just returned home this afternoon.... Keisha likes to 'hang back' in the quiet, out-of-the-traffic areas.... or up on one of her favorite big pillows...
(Right) Another of our gorgeous big girls.. Kascia (dark tabby) arrived this week and zoomed on over to her highest look-out... She was in the company of Bindy up there, all morning.... Kascia has visited us many times in the past... Bindy and her sister Bella are B&B newbies.... They have only been here a day so far and you find them everywhere... They too, are so cute!
(Left) Another of our 5 month old newbies.... Lots of babies holidaying with us over the next couple of weeks.... This gorgeous calico is Mia... I can't wait til she meets Kate this afternoon... who is also arriving for the first time with her big sister Lola... Lola has been coming in for the past couple of years... It's gonna be party central for the next few weeks.. even more than normal....
(Right) If you're taking a picture of our little Beauty Chloe (dark tabby/white), it's difficult to get one where she's actually sitting up and looking serious like this... cause her usual gig is to have her little belly and toes in the air, waiting for her tummy rubs.... She only arrived this week and I have already snapped such pics of her, from this visit.... but I thought I'd post a picture where you can actually see her face...
(Left) Our handsome boy Caseykins (black/white) was very content to sit on his favorite bunk bed, all one.  I considered posting the picture of his adorable little face, after I placed our resident 'puppy' beside him.... Funny stuff!!  He looked at him with slanted eyes and flattened out ears, to match his eyes..... ' Yes!  Can I help you????  Think you took a wrong turn at Albaquerque buddy!!  You'd best be on your way!!!  I'm just picturing Casey with a cowboy hat and spiked cowboy boots... Ya, and maybe a sprig of catnip teetering from his lips as he talks.....

Such a nice calm day before the long weekend gets under way....

(Left) It's hard to know if Alley (tortoise shell) is gazing up at BigBird2 or at Buddy (black/white)...Alley, or Miss Toes, as I sometimes refer to her....Oh, hang on a sec!  she also gets called Squeaky....(her meow is more like a squeak than a cat sound.... it could even pass for a lamb's baaa!).... and her sister Storm will be going back home next week.  We had a good long visit this summer.  I know that they're getting excited about seeing their mom again.   Buddy and his sister Princess are brushing up on their Italian... they're gonna want to follow all of the conversation when their family returns...
(Right) Another Minou.... This handsome Minou (dark tabby/white) arrived this week.  We haven't seen him since last year.  He's a friendly little head butt-er.... He loves to twist his head sideways and nudge everything that's on his path, on his way over to see you.  He adjusted quickly to all of his new friends... As you can tell, our charmer Legolas is very social too...
(Left) Our little beauty Sookie (dark tabby) has been a challenge to get a good picture of.... She's such a curious little Miss... she'll get busy with doing or looking at something or someone, with the head moving about, as she keeps track of the action... then, sure enough, she's off again to another point of interest.... I think we should fit her for a pair of caramel colored runnng shoes.. not that her black & brown striped ones aren't working just fine...

(Right) Our cutie Sylvia (grey/white tabby) has become more laid back as her vacation continues.... She's known to have an independant and wild streak about her.... she's lost a lot of that since she was a kitten..  She's darn near domesticated now!  I know, that might be a bad word in 'Sylvia Land' but I'm sure enjoying getting to play with her this visit.  She and her brother Ebony are both doing great.
(Left) Our gorgeous girl Sasha (grey/white tabby) had a short vacation with us this past week.  She spent most of her days strolling about the hallways and playing with various cats, behind the door, to the 2nd floor..... Sweetie and Buddy were often on the other side of the door with their mice pucks and pipe cleaners in hand.... She'd receive them on the hallway side of the door and shoot it back.... It's no wonder that we'd find a stash of cat toys on both sides of the door each morning.... Kinda like 'street hockey' but indoors and with mice....

Thank you to all of those people that hoped for a beautiful sunny summer....Good Work!

(Left) SammySamson (grey/white tabby) loves to hide out in the hay bails when he first arrives.  It takes him a couple of days to venture out in the open, when people are milling about... He and his sister Viva are visiting again for a brief summer holiday.  They both love attention and neck scratches....
(Right) The gangs all here too.... A couple of our gorgeous girls... There is Harriet (tortoise shell/top) and Alley (dark tabby/top right bed)... surrounded by a couple of handsome young boys.... Zorro (black/white) and Ebony (black).... We've had a lively bunch these past few weeks... lots of youngsters that are full of energy and play!
(Left)  Speaking of those energetic companions.... Charlie Chaplin (black/white) hung out with Coco (black/floor) and newbie Tiger (orange/white tabby).. Charlie Chaplin and Tiger have already returned home.  Coco will be staying on a while longer and now has his cousin Minou visiting too....
(Right) 'Grey' is the color for July.... in 'Cat land' anyway.... Our handsome young old friend Cosmos (right) returned home this week... That's our little pint sized Sylvia, chowing down on some food in the townhouse to the left... She and her brother Ebony have most of their vacation still ahead of them....
(Left) Here's an about-face for you..... It's best to click on this picture to view it in it's larger format... That's the only way to witness The Menou in her full glory.... She made me stop and watch!  I think that she had the same efffect on October (grey tabby)...It's not often that you find The Menou out of HER favorite kitchen cabinet... It's a rare day indeed that you'll find her on her back with her feet kicked up in the air.... Even when I showed Andrea the pic, she was shocked.... 'Is that Menou!!!'  Once again, the beauty of pictures comes through!

Drum roll.... please..... Ottawa's Finest...

(Left) There's our adorable girl Viva (calico) again... chillin' out on one of the wall ramps.... She tries to avoid a lot of human commotion so she will generally find an out of the way hang out, until things quiet down... She was accompanied up there by our Gooey girl, Magoo..... Viva and her brother Sammy get more adventurous as the adventure continues....
(Right) Little BuddyBuddinski (black/white) and his sister Princess are still holidaying with their friends.... Our gorgeous girl Suzie Q (tortoise shell) has already returned home after her last short visit.... In classic SuzieWuzie fashion, she was aloof with the camera, and turned away just as I pressed the button... Andrea and I were just discussing how Buddy has become very persistent about getting attention... especially in the morning.... he likes to give little taps with his paw or give little love nibbles if you take too long to say HI to him... He's becoming more like a puppy each day...
(Left) Black cat, black cat, black & white, black & white, black.... you get the picture.... Another of our goreous black girls.... Alice is bigger than Holly, but smaller than Ebony.... little cutie Figaro weighs in, somewhere between Holly and Alice.... are you confused yet?!  Don't worry, as long as we got it figured out...  Alice is staying on past the long weekend... She's found another of her favorite snoozin' spots.... Spike, and then RonRon, enjoyed many a sleepy afternoon underneath this cover....
(Right) It's easy to spot the Bengals in the crowd... Legolas has a long heritage of being a tree climber... He doesn't need any coaching in the exercise department.  You don't often see him NOT jumping around.... He'll be returning home later this week...
(Left) More Buddy (black/white) pictures.... He's the one on the kitchen counter... his sister Princess (black/white) is up on the spaceship.... That's our adorable girl Stormie (white/dark tabby) sitting atop the 'flowerpower' house (one of her favorite relaxing spots).... Our gorgeous girl Sookie (dark tabby) is over by the food & water bowls, to the far left of the picture  We'll have better pics of her as the week goes on... That's our little charmer October (grey tabby) hanging out on the floor, to the front of the picture..

Rolling into another summer weekend.... no obstacles in sight...

(Below/Right) There's my little chatty pants ChiefieWiefie (dark tabby).. As I sit here typing this, in the front entrance, Chiefiekins has started talking... It's been a crazy busy day and week, so he's normally on the quieter side when lots of people are around.. This used to be such a shy big boy... I even bring him to meet new people sometimes and we can usually get a purr out of him, even through his shyness...Well done Chiefie!!  I don't know where you get that shyness from.. It's definitely not from your dad!

(Left) Zzzzzz  Zzzzzz ... How blissful to not have a worry in the world!!  'I got sunshine, AC and my pal Tigerstripes.... What else could a charming little boy ask for?!  RonRon (dark tabby/white) has been staying at the B&B for a couple of weeks.. He's starting to get excited about seeing his family again next week... Sooo many stories.. He wants to hear all about their big adventure too...
(Right) Lots of kitties a visitin' today.... Cosmos (grey/white) arrived this morning once again.  Viva (calico) and her brother Sammy checked in this afternoon.... I'm guessing that these 2 have met on previous occasions....The weekend is getting under way now... Everyone is having their power naps, to recover from the steady stream of visitors today...  Just like in Cuba... What happens at the Pet B&B, stays at the B&B.... We may never know what these cuties get up to after dark...story telling, card games, passing the catnip around... We can only hope that it's legal..
(Left) There's our adorable girl Holly (black), with Hi 5's all around... This pint sized little cutie was here not that long ago... She has resumed her prescence in the big red phone booth.... She was joined by Alice this morning, another black kitty, and Charlie Chaplin took his cherished spot, on the roof of the phone booth... We still haven't had time to dismantle this structure... No worries, I think they'll love my new ones even more....
(Below/Right) What a face!!! Principessa (black/white) now considers the B&B her home-away-from-home... This gorgeous little girl and her adorable sister Dutchess are enjoying their holidays... I think it's been a great experience for our shyer girl Dutchess.... just like it was great for Princess, when she was younger.. Once they figure out that they are safe and that cats at the B&B aren't territorial here, like they may be at home, it's all systems go...!

Ride the wave.. or Heat Wave... depends where you are!

(Left) This handsome boy is Chester (dark tabby).   He and his playful brother Dillon returned home this afternoon... They both love height.  Chester, as on previous visits, loves to saunter about atop the space ship with buddies Buddy and Sookie... Dillon was often on the cat beds, over the loft.... usually surrounded by Gizmo, Marcello and friends... These kids had a great time rekindling their old friendships and making new ones...
(Right) My gorgeous GooeyGirl (grey/white) has been in for a while and we look forward to another week with her.  She's had soo much company from other cats in the haybails this week.... The hay wagon has been a hot feature with our guests.... If and when things get too 'busy' with the 2 leggeds popping in and out of the group, Magoo often moves to 'higher ground'...
(Left) More pics of YoYo (grey/white) riding on the roof of his favorite HippieBus.... This time accompanied by Coco (black).... I'm not sure if he keeps coming back for the vast out stretched carpet or for the 'ladybugs'.... They do look very handsome against those colors... YoYo and CocoPuff hit it off beautifully....
(Right)  More newbies.... handsome mr Legolas (silver Bengal) arrived this week... Like most Bengals, he's real friendly and curious about the other cats... he's also quite the schmooze with people...So much to explore and climb on... He's used to being around other cats so his integration was almost immediate....
(Left)  Where there is Sweetness (Siberian), there is Playfulness.... Sweetie couldn't resist trying to engage October (grey/white tabby) in a bit of sparring... October wasn't interested just yet, he'd only really arrived the day before... Now you see these 2 boys buddied up together in the airplane all the time... The big white plume of fur above is Gizmo (Himalayan)... Gizzie was right up there with them...  where ever the action took them...

Always leave room for Humour!!

(Left) Sheesh!  You'd think that it was 36 C inside too, with the way that our gorgeous girl Stormie (white/dark tabby) is draped across the cool ceramic tile... Actually, this cutie would be doing this even on a minus 30C day ... it's just her way.... I'm guessing it's some kind of meditation pose.. you know.. Yoga for cats!  You too funny Stormiekins!
(Right) Oh, and another of those little grey girls... NoelaWella was back in for a short jaunt.... That's our cutie Harriet (tortoise shell) in the phone booth... These 2 playful and athletic girls had fun together ... they weren't alone... I've had many young athletes in over the past weeks... and many more kittens to arrrive...  Gotta love those 5 month old kittens... It's always fun to see them 'get going', shortly after they arrive...
(Left) Our handsome big boy Wolfgang (grey/white) was much more ageeable for my camera this visit than last time... He still hung out often on the bridges, but not the highest ones this time...or,  he was on his favorite bunk beds, with a ringside view of BigBird1... He still gave us a bit of a work out to collect him once his dad arrived...
(Right) The boys' hangout... this particlar afternoon, Coco (black) paid a visit to RonRon (white/dark tabby), at his 'penthouse' apartment... Scampie (black/white) waited downstairs in the 'lobby'... He didn't seem to mind though... All 3 boys are laid back and love to socialize....
(Left) I thought this picture made Princess (black/white) look as if she were horesback riding...  It's not completely evident from this angle but there is a 'running cat' wooden cut out on either side, and a bit forward, of Princess' little body... I guess that would make it CatBack Riding... Oh, technicalities... how I adore them!    Just ask me how my City Building Permit is going!!!!!!

Lazy, not so hazy, days of summer...

(Above/Left) This snowy white Himalayan is another of our handsome newbies....Gizmo only arrived yesterday, shortly before I snapped this pic of him... But, today is another day... Today he is out and about socializing with his new friends and piers... He's already having fun with them... He'll be romping with Marcel, Buddy, Sweetie and Dillon by tomorrow....
(Right) This is SHE!  Our little Princess/Princepessa (black/white), older sister to Dutchess, from yesterday... is all about the play these days... Can't you just see it in those eyes!!?  This gorgeous little Miss has been fabulous with with all of the unfamiliar cats too....What a difference a new little sister makes!
(Left) Where are you goin' Toro (black)?!  Don't you think you should put the hand break on first big guy!?  This little charmer is always on the go.... so much so that it's tricky getting a good front pic of those cute little cheeks... Another of our newbies, he settled in quickly.  A bit shy his first day or two, now he comes to visit us when we're in the group areas.
(Right) Another newbie.... and yes, a black one again... Little Teddy is a relatively new addition for one of our existing customers... Teddy is a schmooze!!  I guess it makes sense cause he's surrounded by many young, energetic and social kids at home.... That's our boy Taffy (orange tabby) again, on top of the bird house.. I had to enlarge the picture to be sure that it was him... He's so passed out snoozin, his whole body has melded into the roof.... Ahh yes, lazy hazy days of summer!
(Left) As I mentioned yesterday, Zorro has a twin too.... This is HE!  Our handsome boy Scampy (black/white) likes hanging out with YoYo (grey/white)..... I'm loving the playful, whimsical names that we hear around the B&B...  These 2 crazy boys play their days away.... That could explain why YoYo has a mass accumulation of toys at his feet...

Twins? Cousins? Impersonators? Or just friends?

(Left) The handsome big brothers Dillon (orange tabby) and Chester are back for their regular summer holiday.  Dillon is the more extroverted of the two and quickly 'gets busy' with any other playful kitty that he can find.... Sweetie (Siberian) is often in the mix... Chester prefers to be up high in & on things, while Dillon prefers the lower structures, and being where the people are.
(Right) So many look alike kids in this past week.... Ebony (black) looks somewhat like Teddy and Toro... while Ebony's sister Sylvia (grey/white tabby) looks like Lacey... we also had three smallish solid grey females at the same time... Those are the kinda days that you make noted mention of any and all unique features, even the small stuff... a white patch on the roof of the mouth, black vs white whiskers, a tear in an ear, a microchip... black cats can be the trickiest to distinguish... These 2 cats haven't visited in a couple of years...It's great to see them again.
(Left) While I was taking a load of pics on Monday, Andrea called me back from the other room and asked if I have a pic of THIS!  Ohh, you too cute Spikey (orange/white)!  Spike likes to curl up and snooze underneath this little cover, when it's snoozin time... It's the first time that we find him riding atop it... He sends out a big Hiya to his family.... It's very hot in Ottawa too!
(Right) Here's one of those 3 gorgeous grey girls... Little Newbie Dutchess is visiting with her sister Princess..... her sister has been B&B'ing before... I can't get over the change in Princess since her new little sister Dutchess was brought into her home... Dutchess is a bit shy still but soo gentle.  She goes about exploring everything when the people aren't around.....
(Left) More black & white hamms... Handsome big Zorro is another newbie... He was kinda shy his first couple of days and now wanders all over... He looks like our friend Scamp, but Zorro's a bit bigger... they also have different markings on their chins...but aside from those features, they are remarkably similar in personality.. Very social and friendly with everyone...

Let the good times and tunes roll.....

(Left) It didn't take Sweetness (Siberian) long to discover his new partner in crime, Zephyr (Siamese).... These 2 love to wrestle and chase each other around, like long lost siblings... They are both gentle natured and energetic... What starts out as a 'warm up/stare down' ends as a double body roll... all in good fun.....
(Right) Yes, that's right... just like this!!!  When they've had their playtime, Sweetie stretches out to cool down, and Zephie usually grooms himself.....Repeat... Repeat... throughout the day...
(Left) I keep wanting to call Sammy (dark tabby) 'Romeo'.... It's been a challenge the last few days... Sammy looks so much and acts so much like Romeo, (that's our outdoor Romeo, not our indoor Romeo).... I know, it all gets a bit confusing..... Any which way, our handsome little Sammy here, arrived this week... He's doing great.  He has to go through his disagreeable stage when he arrives.. then, shortly after, we get the REAL Sammy!  He's a charmer...
(Right) Our adorable little boy Sharpie (grey/white) looks rather upstaged by the big orange tractor that he's sleeping atop... No worries.. When he's awake, there isn't anyone or anything that can upstage him!  When he wants attention, he'll come right over and let you know... His dad is always updating us on this little guys hunting expeditions... right in his very own beautiful outdoor enclosure.... I tell ya... those mice must be suffering from too much sun to go wandering in there... I'm surprised that the word hasn't gotten out yet, about Mr Sharpe Shooter here.... They really should be posting signs down there, in the underbrush... Enter at your own Risk... Right there beside Sharpie's sign.... Free Cheese Inside!!!  You're a crafty one!
(Left)  If you recall, I posted a pic of Harriet (tortiose shell) yesterday... She's the sister of this handsome black & white boy, Scampy.... As I mentioned yesterday... these 2 love the high bridges... Sounds like these kids are really enjoying the great outdoors this summer... The B&B is definitely the next best thing to being able to watch birds and climb trees outside... Heck! We've even got tunes!!
